Hi Vilas, It seems like you don't have Sql Server Integration Service (SSIS) installed on your machine. It must be installed in order to successfully create the maintenance plan. Because it is internally making calls to SSIS. For more details http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909036

Sir I got the problem in taking scheduling backup in sql server 2005.
For taking backup I have use given bellow navigation steps
1.Under sql server management Studio
2.Maintenances plan wizard

In at last I have click on Finish Button I got the Error

Create maintenance plan failed

Additional information

-> Create failed for JobStep’Subplan’.(Microsoft.SqlServer.MaintenencePlanTask)
-> An exception occured while executing a T-SQL statement or batch.
(Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)
->The specified ‘@subsystem’is invalid(valid values are returned by sp_enum_sqlagent_subsystem)[Microsoft SQl server Error:14234]

Please solve my problem. Thanks in Advance

To setup a backup for every half an hour you need to follow all the steps as explained in the post. In step 6 Yo need to select daily in Frequency section. And you also need to select 30 minutes in daily frequency section.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the article. It help to scheduled backup. The schedule task worked. Its ok.

I had tried for differential backup. I have some questions.
a) How can we create a differential base backup? Should we manually backup the database(full backup)?
b) How can we restore the database with the differential backups?

The article will be much more helpful if the above questions will be replied here. (I can still google for my questions.)
